Coaches and Directors
Jacob has been coaching with BAC since it's formation in 1999! Jacob grew up in Madison, swimming for Shorewood Hills, Madison West, and Badger Dolphins (a BAC precursor). Besides BAC, Jacob has coached for Shorewood, Maple Bluff, Goodman, and Madison West. He's had involvement with the WI LSC, serving on several board positions, coaching several Zone Meets, and winning several Coach of the Year awards. Jacob became the Head Coach and CEO of BAC in the Fall of 2022. He works most frequently with our Madison 14-under swimmers, but will be helping to work with all areas of BAC. When not coaching, Jacob loves spending time with extended family and absolutely doting upon his kids, Lily (8 in 2025, and in WS Ribbon) and Jesse (6 in 2025 and quite thepresence on the pool deck!)
Chris is a former BAC and UW swimmer. Chris started his swimming career in the All-City Swim League and then joined BAC beginning in what is now called the Middle School Group. Chris has competed at many high-level meets including NCAA Championships, The U.S. Open, and USA Swimming Nationals & Junior Nationals. Chris is the Head Senior Premier & Senior Coach.
Jay grew up swimming for Shorewood Swim Club (SHOR) and for Shorewood High School in Milwaukee and attended UW-Madison. He's been coaching with BAC since 2012 and is the Head Coach of the Junior Premier & Junior Groups in Madison.
Jill is the head coach for BAC programming at the Baraboo location and has a passion for the sport of swimming. She joined the BAC coaching staff in 2017 and has worked with all different age groups. She is currently coaching the Gold and Junior groups. She has also coached the Baraboo High School girl's swim team and was the President of the Dells Dolphins swim team for seven years.
She grew up in and swam for Wisconsin Dells and went to Michigan State University and UW-Madison during her collegiate years. Outside of coaching, she is the President/CEO of the Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau and she serves on various local and statewide tourism and community boards/committees. She was the GM of Tommy Bartlett, Inc, her family's lifelong business, where three generations of her family worked. Jill and her husband have three adult children – all former BAC swimmers. Jill loves coaching for BAC - its coaches, swimmers, and families have become her "on-deck" family.
Darya is the ES Lead Coach. This is her 3rd year with BAC and 5th year coaching swimming. Darya also coaches the Middleton HS girls' team and Middleton Gators over the summer. She was a Team Wisconsin coach for Mid-States All Stars in 2025, and soon 2026.
She grew up swimming at DFAC and Waunakee Wave, running XC/track, and rowing. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2025 with bachelor's degrees in Biology, Spanish and French. At UW, she was a member of the D1 Women's Rowing team for all 4 years.
Connie has been coaching with BAC since 2003 and has worked with all different groups. Presently, she is coaching with the Junior and Junior Premier groups as well as heading up the new Dryland programs for BAC. Connie is also a former 'BAC mom' whose three girls were standouts for BAC and went on to swim for the Badgers here at UW Madison.
Alex joined the BAC coaching staff in 2021 and primarily coaches the WS Trophy group. She grew up swimming for Black River Falls and NLAC. Alex is also the Head Swim Coach for the Goodman Waves.

Dan grew up swimming for CCSC and Sandwich HS in Massachusetts. He then went on to swim at Saint Michael's College in Vermont before coming to UW - Madison to pursue his Master's Degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences. He has been coaching with BAC since the spring of 2022, and currently coaches the ES Ribbon and Middle School groups.
Julia joined the BAC coaching staff in 2021. Growing up, she swam for NLAC and Black River Falls. Julia is a student at UW-Madison studying Kinesiology. Prior to BAC, she coached for both NLAC and LAXY.
This is Alli's seventh year coaching at BAC. Alli primarily works with the Little Badger group. Outside of BAC, Alli has been an 8 and under coach at Parkcrest Pool for the last ten years. Alli is also a fourth grade teacher in the Madison area.
Michael began swimming competitively at Ridgewood pool and Badger Dolphins, which would later become BAC. He swam for Madison Memorial, and went on to swim for Army at USMA. Michael completed his degree at UW-Madison, and returned to BAC as a coach. He has been working primarily with the high school groups since 2015, and has been lead coach of the Gold group since 2022.
As a swimmer, Claire competed for Parkcrest, YDC, Memorial HS, and BAC. She joined our Coaching Staff in 2016 and graduated from UW-Madison in the Spring of 2020. Claire works with many age groups and in the last year has worked primarily with the Senior Group.
Brie joined the BAC coaching staff in 2005 and also coaches for Ridgewood. She swam for Ridgewood and Memorial, where she was a JV Conference Meet Record Holder in the 100 Fly. She is the lead coach for our WS Ribbon Group.
Ian has been a part of BAC since he was 8 years old. He swam for BAC all the way until graduation and has now coached for the past however many years. While not coaching, Ian is a special education teacher within the Middleton School District and the head pool manager at Hawks Landing and Pioneer Pointe.
Robin grew up swimming for BAC and Madison Memorial, and swam collegiately for UW-La Crosse. Robin joined the BAC coaching staff in 2018 and primarily works with our WS Ribbon group.
EJ (Erik Johnson) has been coaching with the club since 2002. The groups he has coached over his tenure with BAC have run the gammet of both age (from high school to LB's) and experience (from seasoned veteran to beginner). Regardless of who you are, EJ is a firm believer in working hard at having fun, and having fun while working hard.
Jon has been coaching with BAC since 2011. He started coaching the East Side Trophy and Silver groups, and after a few years moved over to the West Side where he is the lead coach of West Side Trophy. Outside of the pool, Jon teaches first grade at Stephens Elementary in Madison. He is also the head coach of the Hawks swim team over the summer.
Ido joined the BAC coaching staff in Fall 2021. He was born in Israel and grew up in Brookfield, WI where he swam for 10 years for EBSC and Brookfield East under various coaches. He has trained and raced with high-level athletes that would go on to become NCAA D1 competitors and some even national champions. He graduated from UW-Madison in 2024 and now works full time. He primarly helps out with our sauk location and Junior/JP groups.
Eric joined the BAC Coaching Staff in 2005. He primarily coaches the Senior Group, but has also assisted with both Gold and Ribbon. Eric has twice been nominated Wisconsin Age Group Coach of the Year. Eric and his wife Beth reside in Verona with their two kids Tommy and Elliot.
Rachel joined the BAC coaching staff in 2017. She grew up in Brookfield and swam for EBSC and Brookfield East, and previously coached the Omaha Special Olympics swim team. Rachel works with our WS Middle School Group.
Nicole has been coaching for BAC since 2017. She grew up swimming for the Middleton Gators and in the Madison area. Nicole works with our West Side Middle School group.
Michael joined the BAC coaching staff in 2017 and works with our ES Groups. He is a former BAC swimmer who also swam for Ridgewood and Memorial HS. He currently works as a science teacher at Lodi High School.
Steph joined the BAC Baraboo coaching staff in 2021. She grew up in Sheboygan and swam for the Sheboygan YMCA and Schroeder in Brown Deer. Steph currently lives in the Dells and coaches the Dells Dolphins in the summer with her husband Travis (also a BAC coach). She previously coached at the Sheboygan YMCA.
Travis swam in high school and was an assistant coach for the club team at the Sheboygan YMCA prior to moving to Wisconsin Dells. He recently completed his first season as the head coach of Dells Dolphins club team. Outside of swimming, he is a 5th Grade teacher at Spring Hill Elementary in Wisconsin Dells, this is the beginning of his third year as a teacher with SDWD. He is married to his wife Stephanie and they currently have three cats named Cow, Fat Cinnamon, and Franklin.

Anika is an assistant coach for the Madison West Side Trophy and ribbon groups. She grew up in Stevens Point, Wisconsin and is a student at the Univeristy of Wisconsin - Madison studying physics and astrophysics. She started swimming in 2013.

Christina started coaching with BAC in 2023 and works primarily with the west side Gold group, occasionally working with the Sauk groups as well. She grew up swimming in St. Louis, Missouri and swam at Truman State University for college, where she majored in Biology. She is currently a graduate student at UW Madison, working on her PhD in biomedical science.

Anna grew up swimming for BAC and went on to swim at
Illinois Wesleyan University. She started coaching for BAC in 2023
and will be working with the Sauk group this year. When not on the
pool deck, Anna works as a school psychologist.


I am going into my second year coaching at BAC after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and swimming there for four years. I primarily work with the staff coaching the Senior and Senior Premier groups as well as our Masters group. I have swam just about all my life growing up in SoCal and greatly enjoy working here in my new home State with the S and SP kids and being able to help get so many great athletes continually interested in the sport.
Stacey joined the BAC Coaching Staff in 2003 and has worked with a variety of groups over the years. She is excited to return after a brief hiatus. Besides coaching with BAC, Stacey was also the head coach at Hawks Landing for over a decade as well as the girls team at Memorial. She is currently a chemistry teacher at Memorial HS and a parent to her daughter, Greta, age 8.

Natalie grew up in Madison and swam for BAC, Shorewood, and Madison West. She also swam for Macalester College and has coached for Shorewood and Maple Bluff Country Club. She works with the WS and ES Ribbon and Trophy groups.
Kaitlin brings a lifelong love of swimming to the pool deck. Originally from Northeast Ohio, she competed for the Wooster YMCA, Firestone Akron Swim Team (FAST), and Cloverleaf High School, qualifying for Zones and setting multiple school and pool records—some of which still stand today. Now a proud “BAC mom,” with both her daughter and son swimming, Kaitlin is excited to share her passion and experience with the next generation of athletes.

Anna grew up swimming for BAC and went on to swim at
Illinois Wesleyan University. She started coaching for BAC in 2023
and will be working with the Sauk group this year. When not on the
pool deck, Anna works as a school psychologist.

Jenna is a 2nd year coach with BAC, last year she coached on the East Side, and this year she will be coaching on the West Side working with JR/JP, SR/SP, WS Ribbon, and WS Silver. She grew up swimming on club teams for Black River Falls, La Crosse Wave, and the NLAC swim team, she also swam on the highschool swim team for the Blair-Taylor & Black-River Falls co-op swim team. She graduated from Blair-Taylor highschool in 2024, and is now am a second year student at UW-Madison studying Psychlogy. She also now currently swima on the club swim team at UW-Madison(SCUW). She is excited for a great year of swimming!
